Hi! What I like to do in life is: Writing, reading, playing video-games, and just doing what I love, which is pretty much everything I have listed over there, in the beginning of the "About You" area. I also make reviews on this site, too!

On Valentine's Day, there was a big blackout that hit both my house, and others around the block. That's why I didn't update anything relating to Valentine's Day lately. I actually kind of enjoyed the blackout in a weird way. Yeah, it was frustrating, yeah it was stressful, yeah it played havoc on me mentally and yeah, it did leave me bleedin' nekkid, but I still kind of enjoyed it a little in the end.
It was Velentine's Day, and it was very meh. I don't care very much for Valentine's Day, especially since I don't have a girlfriend so it makes the holiday even more pathetic for me and is 10% of why I don't care for that holiday, it's mainly because of the whole materialism that happens around that holiday that I don't care for. Anyways, so when my Dad came home I decided to play some classy jazz music to set the tone for the holiday, in which I played Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterdayfrom MGS2, House on Fire from Contrast, and the DOOM theme(that's fitting, right?) . Then later I decided to go up to my room to listen to some Sam & Max music and generally minding my own business when all of a sudden, blackout. The blackout happened because here in Surrey, (where I live) and a ton of other areas near here are completely flooded due to massive rain showers, violent occasional violent gusts of wind, and storms. Some people have died from this, apparently.
And at some point during that day, a gust of wind blew away a tree into a power line connecting to my house and other houses near mine, which I figured out earlier today through the radio. And really, the whole experience is quite a long story that I don't plan to post the entirety of due to the fact that I'm tired and I need to sleep soon so I can go to a fancy Chester hotel tomorrow.
But, here it is: I shouted in frustration immediately "Aw, c'mon!!!" after the room was surrounded in darkness. I quickly rushed downstairs to find a torch (flashlight for you yanks) to light up the completely darkened house (btw, it was around 8PM when this happened) and I could see my Dad fetching his lantern to also light up the house. I grabbed a torch and waved it around like a child when he finds his Dad's keys, and then calmly sat down on my living room leather couch to talk to my parents about stuff like the flooding going on around England. I was complaining a lot about not having a good laptop and not having power, too.
Later, I talked to my Dad about Aliens: Colonial Marines and Alien: Isolation for a bit while he played Aliens: Colonial Marines on his gaming laptop that was running on auxilery power, while getting scared about my cats touching the lantern that was placed on the coffee table, which was then moved on top of one of the stereo speakers next to the T.V.
I went upstairs to go to bed and attempt to find something to do while I waited for both the power to come back on, and to start feeling tired.
The next morning I felt a wave of disapointment when I realized that the power was still not back on, and that also worried me at the same time. Some things happen like my Dad fixing up the radio so it works during the blackout, and a ton of waiting around being bored, listening to British radio and news about the flooding going on, which is where we found out about the tree hitting our power line.
Today was the day to prepare for the four day stay at the Chester hotel, which included, packing up, getting stressed and stuffs.
Nearing the end of the day now, it's dark as hell. The lantern and torch are the only real things that can light up the rooms now, except for a few candles, which we had very few of, but the lantern was all we really needed when it came to lighting up the house, so it was okay. At one point my Dad paid money to get the electric heater powered up to keep us warm, and goddamn! Did it heat us up! Even my sister was snuggling next to that fake fireplace, and so was I. At one point, I started complaining about how hungry I was and we had no electricity to make dinner since it was dinner time, so...my Dad called up Domino's Pizza and ordered us all some pizza for dinner. It took them about 40 minutes to arrive due to the blackout with the amount of people calling for pizza, plus we were hard to find in the darkness. While we were waiting for the pizza to arrive I accidentily came up with an idea to hang up the lantern on the dinner table ceiling lights, and it almost felt like we had power while having that lantern hung up.
After a few complications with Domino's, it arrived and we all enjoyed our dinner while having the radio on in the background.
We talked a while, and then we all went upstairs to our rooms to get ready for bed. I cleaned up my room, put a quilt on my bed, and went into the bathroom to clean my teeth when I heard my mother say "Hey, the power's back on!" then I opened the bathroom door and I smiled. The power was back on after a whole day of being in the dark ages. I, was happy. After this experience I honestly feel more greatful for the wonder of electricity and I almost hope that we have another power outage...almost.
