While I have never played DayZ in my entire life of gaming, I bet this is pretty darn close to what the game is like.

The animation was gorgeous, clean, and all-around lovely to look at. Hey....I just realized something while writing this...Aussies animators on the internet, I have found, are really good animators. Like, damn good. For example: Rubber Ross, Sam Green, and Michael Cusack are all really fantastic at animating, moreso than most American animators out there.

Oh, and the music was typical NewGrounds music, but Sam & RionHunter managed to make this NewGrounds music work here.

And there are barely any memes here! In Sam's Minecraft and other cartoons, he used internet memes to compensate with his lack of humorous punch, which is NOT how you make a cartoons funny. But here, this was, I believe written by RionHunter, who seems to have a much better grasp of humor than Sam, and the jokes went really well here. I also found the orange joke to be pretty damn funny. Good work on that front, RionHunter.

And all I have to say about the voice-acting is: 'Dat Austrailian accent.

I really enjoyed this 'toon, and I did not expect to actually enjoy this. Thanks, guys for making a damn good cartoon that was worth my time!

Oh, and you guys should totally team up to make cartoons together. RionHunter could be the ideasman and writer, while Sam Green could be the animator. Together, these two would be practically unstoppable!! Good day ~ Retro

SamGreen responds:

Actually I wrote and animated everything within a week or so. I had Rion draw up the backgrounds at late notice. Though I do appreciate the honesty more than you think and I believe there's a compliment in there because of it. :)

The problem with Animation is the trial error period especially in writing can be quite difficult. Break away from memes like you said is tricky and it's hard to 'BE FUNNY' as sometimes I feela joke is too risky or my timing and idea of the joke is probably off or too basic/lame. rofl

I'd like to say I'm a funny person, though I like to joke from situation in real life and it's hard to convert to animation, but with this review it does appear I'm getting better. I wouldn't say this is my best though I'm happy to say it's a step up for bigger and better things.

Also being able to do this within a week when most animations take around a month and the art style still isn't lacking too much I thoroughly appreciate. :)

Cheers for the review mate,
Sam

Speedo's back, with a mild vengeance.

This made me feel happy, as Bear got his testicles ripped off in the end :D

And yeh, it really isn't the most original idea in the world for a flashy toon, but the way it was animated, voiced, directed, erected, it made the concept almost new.

Keep up the erections, you magnificant bastard!

Speedo responds:

thnx bby

Michael Bay has screwed the Ninja Turtles in a way that cannot be forgiven.

First, Bay screws Transformers. Then, Bay screws the Battleship franchise for some reason. And now, Bay screws the Ninja Turtles by making the Turtle designs quite possibly one of the finest examples of the Uncanny Valley that has been put out on to the big screen.

And Michael Bay says he has this series covered. I laugh.

This is a good message that I think a lot more people need. This is the kind of message that can be carried out on not just music, but media in general. You shouldn't judge someone based on what movie or video-game he/she likes, that's just silly.

I really like this animation as it has a somewhat simple charm to it that immediately brought me in when I hit play. I kind of see myself as a grumpy old man who complains about music not being as good as "the olden days" when rock was awesome and simpler, but that's just my opinion, and I am not the kind of person that judges someone over taste, just personality.

I like Scouting for Girls and Frank Sinatra for my music listenin' needs.

Oh, and I really enjoy watching Regular Show and thus, really enjoyed this cartoon.

tylerghardin responds:

hahah awesome! there's some merit from time to time to the argument that music was simpler in older days. i certainly appreciate something like sinatra. but i look at the pop music of today - bland, predictable songs with boring chord progressions - and they really aren't so different than those in the 1950s, what with novelty concepts and the SAME SOUND over and over. it'll always be like this, and life's too short just to judge someone over something as silly as musical tastes.

and hell yeah! thanks for the review!

This was quite amazing as it was hilarious!

Love the butt shots and I'm not even gay! Great work with the lip-syncing, mate!

Man, I still need to finish that first Half-Life game...

RyanStorm responds:

dude, go for it, Half-Life 1s fun as hell.

Whoa...that...was...amazing.

You hit the nail on the head, man. You hit it. And I should know because I have met people that are quite similar to these characters at conventions, they creep me out, to say the least.

And of course people will get offended by this, obsessed anime fans are quite protective people on the internet.

I am someone who enjoys a little anime and Hatsune Miku music, but not that much. Great animation, fantastic voice-acting, and brilliant Ren & Stimpy style animation.

"What's the deal with mushrooms? I mean, they make you GROW bigger, but HOW does it make ya' grow? I dunno', better ask the Princess for that information"

I love this shit, Esquire. I can't get enough of this shit, man.

This was a very impressive animation.

I have a couple of minor complaints about the animation, though. The animation seemed quite stiff, almost as if most of the cartoon was just still images, which it isn't.

I just kind of wished the animation flowed more, and gave more of a sense of life in these characters, despite the fact that these are Mega-Man X characters.

But other than those very minor flaws in the animation department, this excels in music, voice-acting, (depending if that's original or from one of the games) and theme.

I, myself, am not very familiar with the Mega-Man franchise, as I have not played very many Mega-Man games, and I have never played any the Mega-Man X games, so I'm kinda in the dark with this one.

A fantastic Mega-Man cartoon all-around that actually isn't a parody, huh, now that's rare.

Great job, mate!

I'd say this is pretty accurate. I've been on that stream. It was a shit stream.

Hey, man. I see you have uploaded a "new" 'toon to NewGrounds, I see. Well, I guess I should review it then.

I am the kind of guy that doesn't enjoy games like Pikmin because I have never been very good at strategy games, ever. I tried playing Pikmin 1, but failed miserably from my failure at thinking strategically. I tried playing Pikmin 3, and I actually enjoyed it for a while, but then got bored later on in the game. Pikmin is just one of those series of games that I love, but does not love me back.

And then there's Attack on Titan, my anime of 2013. It is, in my opinion, one of the best anime shows I have seen right next to FLCL, One Piece, and Mad Bull 34. It is intelligent, interesting, and it has a great premise that has held up well so far.

What do you do when you combine these two almost scarily similar franchises together? You get an internet cartoon by an animator who really loves Dark Souls and butts by the name of Jeremy.

I gotta say, it's great to see something from you on this site! It feels like years since the last thing you did on this site, and what a comeback! Though, I kinda wish you did something at least slightly different for the NewGrounds version like you did for that Maro & Loogi cartoon you did a while back. But, despite that very, extremely minor complaint, you did good, man.

Ever since I watched your "Shadow of the Animators" Flash cartoon, I've been attracted to your work like a fat dude stuck to the couch. Hell, I've even stalked you on Twatter just for good measure so I can stick very closely to your ass.

Thank you, for inspiring me to become a slightly better person than I am now.

TerminalMontage responds:

Thank you Retro :) I'm glad you like my work, and that I have inspired you! I'd like to upload to NG more, but my videos these days are few and far between.

And I remember you mentioning the M&L video and its subtle differences. I considered at least putting a thumbnail video of my latest M&L cartoon in these credits since I just uploaded that to youtube.. But, I've been lazy P: Thanks again!

I may have made one too many mistakes.
