At first, I was like "Oh, look. Another Pokemon parody that involves a "POKEMAN DESIGNERS ARE SO LAZY LOLZ" *Sigh*" The overused joke definitely put me off.
And then the obviously Chris O' Neil inspired animation, with a bunch of references to other animes and a reference to Girl Chan in Paradise. The whole switching animation "joke" was really hit & miss with me.
The voice acting was "meh". Like the jokes; hit & miss. But, what got me to give this a 4.5 rating wasn't the bland start, it wasn't the anime jokes, and it most certainly wasn't the stupid Oney inspired animation. It was the ending that had me laughing my ass off.
I freaking loved it, man! I cannot say that for many Pokemon parodies, so you got out lucky. You have passed the "RetroArcadeMonkey test", as it were.
I just hope you can be more original with your jokes and don't be too obvious with the inspiration from other animators. Good day, sir, and I hope you take this review well.
The casting decision for Markiplier as every single damn character in this flick was amazing!
And the whole Dora da Explora shit was a very good choice for the gritty world of GTA.
Overall, I loved it. Good choice of parodying two franchises that are entirely separate in every way!
After a week of thinking on what to say to this heart-warming and somewhat funny tale, I have finally found it.
I loved every second I dedicated myself into watching this perfect heart-warming piece of shit, it was so saaaad, but so fuuny!! And soo sweeet! But that shit's for over-emotional fools...I focus on the quality of voice acting, animation, and finesse of the story-telling. This is obviously made by the mind of FrozenFire, a man with a great gift of both story-telling, and animation all at once.
This is the guy who made Relive Your Life, which has made me fall in love with his work. And it has recently came to me that I haven't fanned him yet. Now I have.
Tomar's brilliant impersonation of the elder man has immediately gripped me, in what slightly reminds me of Forrest Gump, don't ask why. With MichaelJ doing an impersonation of a young gay person known as the main character, what's not to love here? The voice acting? No. The story-telling? Hell no! That shit's deep! The music? It's great! What're you talking about!?!?!
Man, you don't stop doin' what you love, you hear!?! Or...read...
Reviews like these make it all worth it ;)
Its very nice animation stunned me for a few seconds, only to finally disappoint me in its punchline, it was a simple joke that didn't make me laugh at its simplicity, it just left me agape with a stupid looking grin on my fat, stupid face. Well done!
I never was a fan of the show and game, it's just not my kind of thing. But, lots of people are into it, and I don't blame those people, it's just not my thing.
It's really one of those animes that have mixed opinions, there's one side that loves it; and there's the other that either hates it, or just never understood the appeal, and I am part of those people that don't understand its appeal.
And great Toons These Days episode, too!
Also, how in the hell is Yugi able to keep his crazy-ass hair even in sleep? My guess, his hair can bend the fabric of the universe.
I teared up by the end. This series is beautiful, the art, the animation, the characters, and the world itself is in fact, beautiful.
The casual viewer would just think "Jesus, this is one fucked up cartoon! Whoever made this is a goddamn psychopath!" But really, if you think about it, it's a piece of modern art --no, more than that, it's beauty in an art-form, animation.
As I watched this, I was just awe-struck by the pure complexity in the world David Firth created in his brilliant imagination. What seems like a screwed-up fantasy, is really something to marvel at, something to watch in amazement.
The dialogue is quotable, brilliant, and raw imagination, farting out of these characters' brains.
This is perfect, I tend to not say "It's perfect!!! 5 STARS!!" because that is just retarded. No, only dumb Newgrounders review like that.
David Firth is a fucking genius, plain and simple, if I ever had the chance to talk to this man in person I would kiss his ass right there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this fucking brilliant cartoon. I literally have nothing else to say about this, it's just what it is: An extremely imaginative online animated series that delves into the viewer's psyche, I love it.
WATCH THE ALL OF DAVID FIRTH'S WORKS AND BE AMAZED!!
I may have made one too many mistakes.
